Key Concepts in Mental Health (SAGE Key Concepts series) de David Pilgrim

DescripciĂłn - CrĂticas 'This text is insightful and informative and should be an asset to any mental health literature library.  A well-designed text in its layout and content, it is accessible to anybody associated with the mental health field – whether they be a service-user, carer or professional.  I will definitely be recommending this text to all nursing students, regardless of their field of practice.' (Thomas Beary 2016-11-01)‘Professor Pilgrim in this 4th edition of his book on key concepts in mental health has one again delivered on his promise.  These are really important and significant issues that affect mental health service users, carers and health and social care professionals and practitioners.  At no time does the book minimise the significance nor complexity associated with these themes. These are issues that affect people directly and this book offers readers with a clear and balanced perspective.  It remains the key introductory text and one I am very pleased to recommend to students and others.’ (Ian McGonagle 2016-11-14)‘This is a gem of a book, very useful as an introductory text, a quick reference for busy students and academics, and those wishing to study in more detail. This new edition has an improved layout, introduces some new subjects, and brings existing material up to date.’ (Dave Mason)‘Key Concepts in Mental Health Nursing provides a useful overview of important concepts in mental health. It will be beneficial for students, academics, and professionals working in the field. Pilgrim includes definitions, key points and further reading in each section which are immensely valuable, making it a must for academics’ reading lists.’ (Emma Jones 2016-11-03)‘Pilgrim provides a text here that is broad-ranging in scope; identifying and critically considering conceptual, policy and practice matters. The written style and structure of the text is accessible to a wide audience; with a clear and commanding presentation of technical detail in addition to thought-provoking examples, philosophical and sociological analyses. This latest edition builds upon the successes of those which have come before and provides a valuable go-to resource for students, lecturers, researchers and practitioners alike.’ (Paul Taylor 2016-11-14)‘I can highly recommend this book. The chapters cover in detail all the main topics around mental health. Clear, concise and refreshingly up-to-date. I was particularly impressed with the updated information on the Biopsychosocial Model which has been included in this new edition. A very useful read for my students.’ (Rachael Morice 2016-11-14)'This is a great introduction book for anyone who is interested or is working in the area of mental health. It provides concise chapters with researched arguments on the topic area, giving the reader an informed viewpoint on contemporary issues in mental health.'
