Descripción - Críticas 'A uniquely practical text that presents the diagnostic, pathogenic, prevention, therapeutic and public health aspects of clinical microbiology in the context of case based presentations. An essential resource for training the clinical microbiologist, pathology resident and infectious disease fellow.' David W. Craft PhD, Medical Director of Microbiology, Penn State Milton S. Hershey Medical Center Reseña del editor An interactive text, Cases in Medical Microbiology and Infectious Diseases, helps students better understand the clinical importance of the basic science concepts presented in medical microbiology or infectious disease courses.  The cases are presented as “unknowns” and represent actual case presentations of patients the authors have encountered. Each case is accompanied by several questions to test knowledge in four broad areas including the organism’s characteristics and laboratory diagnosis; pathogenesis and clinical characteristics of the infection; epidemiology; and prevention and, in some cases, drug resistance and treatment. This title is published by the American Society of Microbiology Press and distributed by Taylor and Francis in rest of world territories.
